Marie Boyce and John Durston came to Creemore in 1996 and stated their herb garden here and started Herbs ‘N’ Things.. We had always used herbs but hadn’t considered growing them for sale. We have around 50 different herbs from culinary to medicinal.  All our herbs are home grown on our property organically, and hand harvested, dried in our special units and processed, (removing the leaves from the stems).   We have done considerable research into the uses for herbs and have developed a high quality product.   We prepare our seasonings, teas and dried herbs in the best environment we can provide. We package our dried herbs as close to whole leaf as possible as this preserves their taste and goodness.   If ground they soon lose their taste and goodness. Crumbling them when cooking gives the desired taste without using a lot, whereas when ground a lot more is required to achieve the same taste  We belong to The Ontario Herbalist Association, as well as our local horticultural society,  and are working on a course in Herbalism.  Our perennial herbs are grown on the west side of the house away from any main road and since we live in a small village with no main highway running through the village, the traffic is much lighter than in another town.  We start all our annual herbs and flowers from seed ourselves and let them grow in our heated cold frames until ready to plant in the garden.

We do all the work ourselves and are extremely busy during the short summer season. We start harvesting our perennial herbs in June and our annuals in late July and August with great care in the morning hours. You can feel confident buyng our herbs.

Our tea blends are very popular and have been developed with great care.   We have blends for relaxing and enjoyment as well as those that help with some minor ailment.   We leave the choices up to the individual.   Our seasonings are also very popular and we have a seasoning for most every dish. Our seasonings have been taste tested by friends and family members and passed with flying colours.

We enjoy working with all phases of herb production. We enjoy groups and buses to view our gardens during the summer months and have organized an Herb Fair in June for three years in a row.   Our gardens are open for viewing during the summer. We also do speaking engagements regarding any aspect of growing herbs.

Welcome to Herbs'N'Things!

We are offering 10% discount off on an order of 5 items or more in December!!

All our herbs are kept in whole life form where possible in order to preserve as much of the smell and goodness in the herbs. All home-grown and hand harvested. All herbs are grown organically. We have been told numerous times that our home grown herbs are the best in the area.
